Great Watch

| I just recently bought this watch and I have to say i was very pleasantly surprised by it. I have three other invictas including the Invicta Quinosar Mechanical which is by far my favorite but this new one is now my second favorite and will probably be the one that i wear the most. To start things off the watch is a good size watch to wear every day, it is not too big but still garners attention. It is a heavy watch because the case and band are thick and feel to be of good quality. The bracelet on the watch is very good looking and falls somewhere between dressy and casual. I like that the watch is mechanical, I only wear mechanical watches, but some peoeple do not like to have to wind thier watch every morning. I am actually thinking about buying another one in a different color while they are this price, $139, which after receiving the watch i now know is a steal. |

| Watch has a great feel when it is on your arm, looks great and the exhibition back really shows you the great finished manual movement. |
NOT as described

| The watch has a beatuiful design, with a significant presence. However, there is no statement of where the movement is from, and the reflective dial is extremely purple. A good looking watch if you know what youre getting, just realize that it is PURPLE not Royal Blue, and not blue with a tinge of purple. |
Nice Movement: Good Value

This Invicta 5104 watch is a good value at the $[...] price that I paid. (The fellow who only paid $[...] got a steal.)
The movement is a Chinese clone of an old and respected Swiss Venus 175 movement. The Chinese company, Sea Gull, purchased the machinery from the Swiss in the 1960's in order to make chrongraph watches for their pilots. It is kind of dated by modern standards, but quite good for the price. Mechanical chronographs usually cost $1000 and up. It seems well finished.
The watch keeps very good time (For a mechanical watch) and the simple chrono functions work very well. The twelve hour dial at the 6:00 O'clock position is largely useless.
I don't think the watch is all that great looking...It is OK, but the dial and bracelet are kind of cheap looking.
All told however, if you want a nice mechanical chronograph, it is well worth $[...] bucks, but don't expect a Rolex or Omega for this price. |
