Wonderful watch from a wonderful woman

Review Date: February 1, 2010
Reviewer: Student Driver,
My friend ordered this watch, but I accidentally got the #6054 (same, but blue) and I ordered this one shortly after since the blue one was so nice. They have a very smooth movement and work quite well. I have 5 other Invicta watches, and have given out 3 more and the Japanese movement on this automatic is quite impressive (I have both Swiss and Japanese on the others). The build quality is excellent as usual, and I love the finish of the stainless steel. The green is lighter in the picture than it is in person, but it's a nice green.
Amazing value

Review Date: February 6, 2010
Reviewer: S. Fazli, New Jersey, USA
This Invicta 6055 watch is an amazing value. Its solid, has an accurate movement and fairly classically styled. The style draws inspiration from Omega Seamaster and Rolex Submariner but is really its own. The watch is massive and heavy. If you have a small wrist, skip it.

There are a few shortcomings in this watch that I'm happy to forgive given the low price.

- Non screw-down crown; a diver watch w/o that isn't really a divers watch. Should be good for taking a shower but not for dives.
- Non-hacking movement
- No manual-winding support

The fit & finish is amazing at this price point, but not up to Swiss watch standards. All in all, a good watch at a bargain price!

invicta 4470 - only swiss made swiss automatic

Review Date: November 28, 2009
Reviewer: Petiteface, Austin, TX
i ordered the invicta 4470 and it got delivered by amazon within two days. i got it under the black friday deal for under 230. this is the only swiss made, swiss automatic under 450 from invicta. the 9937 has a swiss movement but is not swiss made. the other option is to go for a wenger's terragraph which has an eta 2824 movement (this one has a sellita sw200 movement) but does not look as good.

the watch looks impressive and the brown bezel with white 'wave' dial looks very handsome. the strap is a little big for me and i need to get it adjusted. so far its tracking my cellphone very well and it was able to maintain its ticking through at least 8 hours. need to give it additional time to decide on its accuracy.

Update after 10 days:
Now that I have had this watch for 10 days, I can comment on its accuracy a bit more. The watch has gained about 30s in a 7 day period which is about 4-5 seconds per day. Not chronometer standards, but pretty darn close. My date advancement works just fine (except have to watch out for months with fewer than 31 days and manually adjust). I took the watch to a local jeweler and got the strap adjusted for $5. Love it and highly recommend.
Looks good, but...

Review Date: December 10, 2009
Reviewer: Geoff Coffield,
Let me start by saying that overall I like the watch. For the price I paid it's not a bad deal, but I wouldn't have paid even $300 without feeling ripped off.

And let me just state unequivocally that Amazon has the best customer service I've ever experienced from a retailer of their size. I couldn't have been more happy with my experience shopping with Amazon.

Ok, back to the watch...

Good:
Appropriately large - fits my large hands nicely without looking comically large.
Nicely packaged.
Nice detail work on the watch - looks well made and gets lots of compliments.

Bad:
The date ring doesn't advance on its own - I have to manually advance it every day.
So far it's running quite fast - I have to reset it each morning. I'm hoping it settles down with time.

At the $225 I paid it's a nice-looking and solid watch, but don't expect too much. The MSRP is pure fantasy, but for a swiss movement in a nice looking package, it's a decent choice. The only letdown aesthetically is the plastic ring holding the movement...not so classy.

Overall I like it and if you can put up with its shortcomings, it's a great deal.

Review Date: December 10, 2009
Reviewer: P. Hodge, Orlando
I am totally happy with the savings and service from Amazon.com for this wristwatch. The only down-point of this watch is, much to my disappointment for a USD $1295 retailed Swiss watch, the accuracy. I conducted 2 calibrations on the 7th, and yesterday the 8th of December 2009. I opened my internet calibrated clock on the computer and set my watch exactly to the second. The first check was approximately 24 hours later on the 8th and the second tonight, the 9th. End observation is the watch is 20 seconds fast on both tests... If you decide to own this same watch, please note, it is indeed a lovely watch and very unique, but not reliable as a timekeeper - your results may vary. Here are also some facts not listed in on this website. The movement is a Caliber 11 1/2 SW 200-1 manufactured by Sellita Watch Co. SA, Crêt du Locle 11, CH-2301 La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Tel.: +41 (0)32 967 99 67, Fax: +41 (0)32 967 99 60. I have not yet received information from Invicta where my watch was assembled - It should be in Switzerland because my watch boasts "Swiss Made" on its dial - meaning made in Switzerland, and not "Swiss Movement". The size, workmanship and identification of the Invicta brand is quite distinctive. The dial is lovely and the "brown" bezel is actually a deep and rich Starbuck's coffee colour, such as aged mohogany or burnt sienna wood. I am very demanding and yet very forgiving it seems ...

I would recommend this watch to anyone who wants a watch which is of high quality and has sporty good looks. I have had many complements about this watch. Buy it.
One heavy watch

Review Date: June 24, 2009
Reviewer: Ralph R. Jackson,
The Invicta S1 is one heavy watch. I have a hard time keeping it centered on the top of my wrist - it wants to slip around to the outside.
That could be caused by my small wrist. It is handsome, keeps perfect time, and I would recommend it.

Nice Watch Just Too Big

Review Date: December 13, 2009
Reviewer: Carl L. Ward, Barbados
My review for this will be short. It is a really good high quality watch. I am pleased with the features, packaging and looks. I was especially pleased about the fantastic price that Amazon offered it for. In fact I was too pleased about the price and the star rating given by customers so that I did not look at the reviews here or elsewhere in depth. As a result I bought an excellent watch at an excellent price which is too big for my small wrist (some people seem to like that look, but not me). So sadly I have to give it away and get another watch.

For Amazon and other sellers please consider methods of pointing out the weight and size of the watches being sold, not just using written measurements but also some pictures against a ruler or some standard sized object eg a ping pong ball etc. Watches like this that are really big would do even better to be flagged as such.
Great watches, and really on SALE

This Invicta sale is outstanding. This has one of the best looking dials and face designs I've seen. Heavey and great value.
Impressive Design

Review Date: September 18, 2009
Reviewer: David Sarek, Florida, USA
I've had this watch for about 6 months now and am pretty happy with it. The quality of the material & workmanship is quite good. I was surprised by the level of detail on the face - when you see it close up its very impressive.
The band is comfortable (it has solid links that do not catch on hair or skin) and the clasp has been durable. In my opinion, the stem is fairly easy to unscrew and use but it was a bit complicated to understand how to adjust the 24hr hand vs the hour/minute hands and date. The pilot slide rule actually works (the dial moves easily) but the figures are too small for the average person to read. The quartz timekeeping accuracy appears to be very good.

The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the size of the watch. Although the description says 43mm I believe that's just the main case. With the stem, the width is more like 48mm. In addition the watch is heavy and thick. I think it seems thicker than 13mm because a good portion of the case is above the band to accommodate the slide rule mechanism. As a person of medium build I feel it is a bit too large for me, but most everyone I ask thinks it looks fine. In any case, you will definitely notice its there at first.

As for durability, the crystal is superb - very clear yet very tough. Not a scratch on it yet. The band is another story. I am seeing minor scratches/abrasions on the clasp and band due to nothing more than contact with my desk. This is not up to par with the rest of the watch. The band must use a softer metal than normal because it is really not a durable as it should be. It's really the weakest "link" of the whole product.

In summary - I think its a great watch for the price and it generates quite a few compliments. The reasons I reduced my rating were the weight, thickness and scratch-prone band. The band almost makes me want to drop down to three stars but it is replaceable and you could easily swap it out for leather, rubber, or other more durable metal band.
good watch

Reviewer: Samer Sami Girgis,
this watch is awsome, it looks mutch more expensive, the dial & the flame fusuion crystal is more shinny then in the photos
Great value on an impressive watch...

Review Date: February 5, 2010
Reviewer: A. Bartlett, Denver, CO USA
Invicta always does a great job. Beautiful watch, good construction. The band is a little underweight so the watch doesn't feel balanced but you get used to it. I will probably put it on a brown leather band anyway. A very nice watch for the $60 I paid. From a looks perspective, you won't find a better watch for less than a grand. This thing looks way more expensive than it is. Plus the brand name means Invincible, so you have that story to tell... the only thing I wish is that I would have preferred this to be an automatic watch... but it would have been much more expensive.

Great quality but confusing warnings.

Review Date: January 11, 2010
Reviewer: R. Tin, San Jose, CA
A very nice-looking watch and I got it at a great bargain! Looks very professional and has a polished feel. Sadly, the manuals and warnings that come with the watch contradict each other. It states that you should not change the time during 10 pm - around 6 am while another says 9 pm - around 5. I know that this is a small matter, but a great company such as this should make their warnings better clarified. I think it is because of this flaw that the second hand doesn't exactly line up with the dashes on the watch face. Despite these small problems, this watch is beautiful and would look great on anyone. Don't worry, it still keeps track of time!

Loved it!!

Review Date: November 10, 2009
Reviewer: Tnicole11, Houston, TX
I purchased this watch for my husband as a first anniversary gift. He loves it and the watch fit perfectly. I was concerned with the length of the band because my husband's wrist measures 9.5 inches, but the watch fit perfectly! I was so pleased. I think this will be the start of an Invicta collection. The quality is great and it was very easy to register the watch on the Invicta website. Now we have a 5-year warranty at no additional cost. Great!

Beautiful!

Review Date: August 19, 2005
Reviewer: L. MCELROY, Jacksonville, FL USA
(...)

The watch has a nice weight, beautiful face and is generously sized. I need to have several links removed before I can wear it. It comes nicely packaged, although at first, I didn't think that instructions and warranty paperwork were included. They were hidden inside the top of the watch box. It was difficult at first to pull out the pin in order to set the time, but once I got the pin out, it was a snap to adjust the date and time.

All in all, an excellent watch for a great price!
Possibly the best value in watches out there

Review Date: November 19, 2009
Reviewer: L. Kirk, Maryland, USA
I was somewhat dubious about Invicta quality. After all, the prices are so low. I was very surprised at the quality of this watch. I purchased it because it was the only reasonably priced womens sized automatic movement watch in their product line.

I've been wearing it about 2 weeks now, and the watch has gained about 2 minutes. It is my understanding the automatic movement watches are the least accurate, in general. This is a trade-off I am willing to accept.

The watch is heavy, but is sized nicely for my small wrist. The case is thick, but this is true of most Invicta watches (except for their "slim" line).

The watch came with a band adjustment tool, and I found a review on Amazon where someone described use of the tool. Quite easy ... I had my band fitting perfectly within 10 minutes, and I'm no mechanical wizard.

The luminous hands and hour markers stay quite bright at night, which I appreciate because most of my watches lack luminous markers.

The second hand has a sweep-type motion. The back of the case is crystal, so you can see the winding mechanism and the mainspring.

The blue bezel is more of a royal blue than the color shown in the photograph. There is a crystal dome over the date, which makes it easier for older eyes like mine to read the date. The stem screws down to protect the movement from water.

The band has a little tendency to grab hairs, but I forgive that since it has a double-locking clasp. It is very secure on the wrist.

I own several "name brand" watches, cartier, rolex, hublot, etc above 5000 dollars watch. This watch is nice for its price! The movement accuracy is acceptable; hei you cant compare with quartz movement or digital! And for its price, you get a nice box, certificate as if its thousand dollar watch. This gift will impress anyone.

This is a nice watch, but it's not very accurate...looses about 3 sec/day. Also, a customer would need to shake the watch before bedtime. It looses about 1/2 an hour overnight without arm moovement. Buyer Beware of this problem! It does have a screw down crown for heavy diving use.
This is an extremely unreliable watch!

Review Date: October 8, 2007
Reviewer: Judy, Cortlandt Manor, NY
I bought this watch 2 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. Since I purchased it, it has steadily lost approximately 2 minutes/day even though I never take it off. Additionally, it is extremely difficult to set the date correctly. The worst, however, began about 1 month ago when it started to lose time and can easily end up 2-3 hours slow by the end of the day ... not a great thing when you need to pick up children at a bus stop. If you need a watch you can count on, this is not the watch for you!
Junk

Reviewer: Kurt W. Schsuter,
I purchased this watch for my Daughter's Christmas present and it is junk. She tries to wear it but it will not keep time even when hand wound. Recently we've discovered that the second hand will spins freely around the dial. I will NEVER purchase another Invicta product again.
This watch never ran, no one wanted to work on it either.

I recieved this beautiful watch and was thrilled. It would never start, even when I called the company and they walked me through the process, again. Nothing. Beautiful piece of metal... too bad.

The Women's Baby Lupah watch has the nice big easy to read numbers on it's face and additionally has the ability to light up in darkness.

The style is very elegant, a perfect form and function timepiece at a very good price. Very satisfied and highly recommended.
Affordable Style

The Invicta Lupah is a sturdy yet stylish watch with a solid build and feel. So far it is keeping very good time (one month's ownership) and there are no issues. The curved glass over the watch face, while it protrudes and tends to bump into things seems very resistant to scratches. It is also proving to be quite water resistant as I've done the dishes a few times forgetting to remove it. Overall a stylish affordable watch with a quality feel.
Love this watch!

I loved the look of this watch when I saw it on amazon and the original I have to say, is shinier and even better. It's bold but not enormous (like others in the Invicta brand) with very clear numerals. The leather strap is baby soft and the whole watch feels great on the wrist immediately. It is so far keeping good time...what more could you want except diamond's?!
Love it!

I love my "Baby Lupah" watch!! I must say, I had reservations before buying this watch. I read one of the reviews that led me to believe it might be cheaply made...I have been nothing but satisfied with this watch. I love the large face that makes the time easy to read, and the black/black is a very attractive design. And the band is SO SOFT! For the cost, this watch is a great buy! I love it!
awesome

I have been an Invicta fan for many years and decided to buy this watch for my girlfriend as a birthday gift. It arrived very quickly and she loves it. It goes with any occasion, whether it be casual or dressy. Invicta tends to make watches that are quite large in size, which was a concern for me, as my GF has tiny wrists and hands. This watch is called the "baby" lupah and it is small compared to most other watches in the Invicta product portfolio. It is perfect for a woman's wrist, even if she's tiny. We've had the watch for about 2 months now with no problems whatsoever.
horrible quality

I'm writing this review after owning the Lupah for a couple of years. One of the digits came off the face and is floating around. Called the customer service - apparently they warranty the quality for only 1 year. ONE YEAR!! And this is a swiss watch! Not cheap either! Now they want me to pay for the repair - but they wouldn't tell me what the repair will cost. To determine that I have to send in the watch along with $20.
The crystal is of very poor quality too. It scratches very easily.
I can guarantee you - your Lupah will look all banged up in just a short while. That is, if it still works.
Not what I expected from a swiss watch.
attractive watch; poor quality

This watch has a comfortable soft band and pretty feminine styling. Unfortunately it doesn't work. After two months it stopped completely. I sent it back for warranty (which cost me the price of shipping plus a ridiculous $25 for them to ship it back to me.) Two months later they returned the watch to me, saying the second hand had been stuck but now was fixed. Sure enough the second hand works now, but only intermittently. The watch doesn't keep time - it loses an hour or two each day. I called Invicta again and they want me to ship it back to them a second time at my expense. The quality of the watch is quite low & the customer service only slightly better. I would strongly recommend against purchasing this watch even though it is pretty. You'd be better off buying a pretty bracelet and checking your cell phone for the time.

Much More Than it Seems - Seiko/Citizen NightHawk Twin

Review Date: October 1, 2009
Reviewer: J. Inman, Wichita Falls, TX
This watch is made by Invicta and is well made. However, with the partnership of Invicta and Seiko- - developing unique movements, and Seiko simply becoming a major supplier now to Invicta rather than the usual Swiss heavy hitters who are just drying up on having enough movements available to meet world demand, guess what....this is an exact carbon cut out of the Citizen Nighthawk (made by the Seiko Corporation). Find a picture on Amazon, compare and exhale [Ok, I'll post one up for you]. The difference is this model is quartz, not eco drive. But, for about $300.00 less, TOUCHDOWN! It looks good, fits well and the gold plating is up to Invicta standards. The movement has a dual hand 24 hour time keeping function that is really cool and unique. This is far from the most expensive watch I own, but I enjoy it as much as any other in my collection, some costing hundreds more. It does have the flame fusion crystal, which is relatively new for Invicta, so it is not from the oldies vault. The outer dial rotates with the left crown, which is for calculating fuel needs for REAL pilots, but even if you're grounded like me, it looks awesome. I've worn it to work with a suit, despite it's function and sporty look, and it came off great with the rich blue and Swiss gold of Invicta's layering process. Can't miss here. Any would-be aviation fanatics, watch geeks, geeks in general, or watch collectors, will be happy with this watch for a lower end, easy wear piece. Wear it in good value and good fun...This one is to wear and ENJOY!
EXCELLENT CHOICE HOWEVER.......

BEAUTIFUL LOOKING TIMEPIECE, HOWEVER I DID NOT EXPECT IT TO BE AS BIG AND HAVE AS MANY LINKS. I WILL HAVE SOME LINKS REMOVED. THE WATCH KEEPS GOOD
TIME. I USUALLY ALTERNATE AMONGST MY WATCHES. THIS IS DEFINITELY A GOOD
VALUE FOR THE PRICE I PAID.
